Our Matcha, Hojicha, Kocha and Sencha are all sourced from Japan. Our Matcha, Hojicha and Sencha are sourced from Uji, Kyoto. Our Kocha is sourced from Kyushu, which is an island where the best Kocha is sourced.
The term “ceremonial” is often used to describe matcha that is supposedly high-quality and suitable for traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. However, it’s important to know that “ceremonial” is largely a marketing term: nearly all brands use it nowadays, and it does not automatically guarantee superior quality.
At KYŌ-KLUB, we go beyond the label. Our ceremonial matcha is truly exceptional, sourced directly from the best regions of Japan, Uji, where matcha has been grown for centuries. Each batch is carefully selected for its vibrant green color, delicate aroma, and smooth flavor, ensuring that whether you’re sipping it as a latte or performing a tea ceremony, you get genuine high-quality matcha in every cup.
Yes you can, but we would recommend the following:
Ceremonial Matcha should be used for a tea ceremony or drinking it like a latte.
Culinary Matcha is made specially for baking and confectionaries.
To enjoy the full flavor and aroma of our teas, proper storage is key:
Keep it airtight. Always store your tea in its original sealed packaging or an airtight container to protect it from air and moisture.
Avoid light and heat. Matcha, hojicha, and kocha should be kept away from sunlight and heat sources, as these can degrade the delicate flavors.
Store in a cool, dry place. A cupboard or pantry is ideal. For matcha, especially ceremonial grade, refrigeration is recommended once opened to preserve freshness and vibrant color.
Use quickly after opening. Powdered teas like matcha are best enjoyed within a few weeks after opening. Leaf teas (hojicha and kocha) maintain their quality a bit longer but are still best consumed within a few months.
Avoid strong odors. Tea absorbs smells easily, so keep it away from spices, coffee, or other strong aromas.
Following these steps ensures that every cup of KYŌ-KLUB tea is as fresh, smooth, and aromatic as the first sip.
